Ta-da! hours later..

I made this cluster of 3 red “amanita muscaria” mushrooms a few weeks ago. It’s cool to look back and more closely remember the process of making this particular project.
Nuno Felted Vampire Bite Scarves – Two New
I made two new “bloody vampire bite scarves” recently. I LOVE making these scarves! These are the nuno felted version where I use soft merino wool roving in natural ecru (white / cream) and two shades of red as “blood” and white silk gauze fabric.
One of them has a lot of “blood” on both sides and bite marks going horizontal.

The other has less “blood” and bite marks going vertical.

** This scarf was shipped to Sweden!
The reds are bright and the silk adds a lot of beauty to the scarves, causing certain areas to be semi-transparent. Both of them measure 90 inches total – 70 body, 20 fringe – and the width varies between 4-5 inches. Light, warm-yet-cool, and very soft, these scarves are a great accessory to utilize all year long. If you don’t want to show off your bite marks all the time you don’t have to. There are many ways to wear it that make it look like any abstract sort of red and white nuno felted one of a kind handmade scarf…
Be sure to check out the scarf section of my shop for all I have available and examples of what I can make. If nothing I currently have listed is exactly right, contact me to discuss a custom order. I would be thrilled to create something unique for you!

“Bacon” Scarf Handmade out of 100% Soft Wool
New scarf product line in my shop. These scarves are very fun to make and are super duper soft. Meant to look like bacon! But hey, if somebody sees it and doesn’t “get it” they’ll just think you’re wearing a pretty brown/pink/peach/white scarf 😉 They don’t even have to “get it”. Those who do are sure to get a kick out of it!

Ook the Needle Felted Snowy Owl
I designed a new needle felted owl…. a snowy owl!
Or rather.. “inspired by a snowy owl”. He’s not bright white but more of a light grey, his beak and feet are gold instead of black… and he has ears and “hair”. But WHATEVER. He’s adorable!
Kind of like Hedwig from Harry Potter! If you’re into that kinda thing, check out this site that I was reading that tells all about Hedwig. It says that one snowy owl, “Gizmo”, played all the main parts but that he had two other snowy owl stunt doubles.. “Ook” and “Sprout”. The name Ook is way too cute and perfect so I’m borrowing it for this owl! I always name the original design.
I wish he would fly a valentine card to my friend in MN for me. One can dream!
Felted Wool Butterfly! My First One!
Light, colorful and 3D! Made by wet felting and needle felting techniques. Very hands-on free form sculpting using wool. My first ever felted wool butterfly!

I’m going to make a lot more in different colors and attach them to felted scarves and other projects. This success has me jumping up and down excited 🙂
Felted Scarves in Full Swing
Recently I’ ve been busy making wet and nuno felted scarves out of silk and wool.

Experimenting with dye on silk has yielded some good results. Except for one – I found out that using any bleach on the silk pretty much eats it away quickly and turns it yellow. Oops!
The way the brown and gold scarf turned out really made me happy, as well as the purple one. Yes they are as fun to touch as they look – they are very soft. I started adding felted flower accents and think it makes them stunning. Check them out!

I made this just a couple of days ago. I want to make a whole series of scarves like this with woodland creatures on them. So fun!
