Awesome Recent Etsy Finds #5

I’ll start off with some BIG items!

First off is this wood slab table. I want to make a table sort of like this some day. (Note: My dad made the tables I grew up eating on! My brother still uses them, dents from years ago and all)

This couch makes quite a statement, doesn’t it? The purple and the details… lovely!

Eee! I wish I could keep them all, sport them around town to the post office and back home! hehe. More are done but not yet photographed, a beautiful one is on my felting table right now and many more are on my to-do list. My goal is to make about 20 new scarves. I have so many designs in my head, I want to get them out. I know many will be going to people as gifts during the holidays so that is very motivational.. ’tis the season for scarves with a chill in the air!

“What Inspires You?”

I answered a forum discussion on Etsy today with this..

“I find that I am most inspired right after I finish making one thing.. I want to make more, a different way, a different color! or even something completely different. Not being able to do one thing that’s on my mind because of being busy with others is really powerful. Other than that, inspiration comes from “everywhere” and also right out of thin air.. sometimes I’ll be doing something unrelated and all of the sudden I’ll “see” things clear as day that I should make.”

Nuno Felted Vampire Bite Scarves – Two New

I made two new “bloody vampire bite scarves” recently. I LOVE making these scarves! These are the nuno felted version where I use soft merino wool roving in natural ecru (white / cream) and two shades of red as “blood” and white silk gauze fabric.

One of them has a lot of “blood” on both sides and bite marks going horizontal.

The other has less “blood” and bite marks going vertical.

** This scarf was shipped to Sweden!

The reds are bright and the silk adds a lot of beauty to the scarves, causing certain areas to be semi-transparent. Both of them measure 90 inches total – 70 body, 20 fringe – and the width varies between 4-5 inches. Light, warm-yet-cool, and very soft, these scarves are a great accessory to utilize all year long. If you don’t want to show off your bite marks all the time you don’t have to. There are many ways to wear it that make it look like any abstract sort of red and white nuno felted one of a kind handmade scarf…

Awesome Recent Etsy Finds #4 : Clothing

Summer is coming up and this swimsuit is amazing. I have been wanting to make one for a long time – I already have awesome teal colored swimsuit material – but I’m a bit scared to mess it up while experimenting with the SS stitch to do stretchy stuff. Wish I could order one of these. This seller makes a lot of items I really like!

Rawr! A fierce wolf? Awesome.

This shop feels so cohesive. Her style rocks! So many awesome things… this one looks so fun for around the 4th of July.

Kaylim never ceases to amaze me.. this looks so hip, unique and comfortable. I’ve been following Kaylim for at least a year now. It’s really fun to see designers grow and become even better than they were not long ago!

Funky! It makes me want to put on mud boots (like the model) and feed chickens in it. I think I will try my hand at making a ‘scrap dress’ soon. Inspired!

I don’t find myself in shorts often at all, I much prefer skirts, but wow! These are worth a look. “Galaxy” stuff is really popular right now because I’ve seen it all over on boots and dresses too.

My style is it’s own animal I think.
In some posts-to-come I will open up my own closet..

Awesome Recent Etsy Finds #3

One should not underestimate the importance of good spices and the knowledge to use them! This kit is on my wish list for sure and would be a great gift for any chef… even if you think they ‘have it all’ – I bet they wouldn’t mind trying out something new or receiving more of a favorite! Do you know what Tabil is?? Lime Fresco Salt? Sounds exciting ^_^

This scarf sold already, of course, but.. WOW…. This lady really knows what she is doing and comes out with so many amazing scarves! This one just particularly blows my mind!

These make my toes wiggle, wishing they were mine!

The enormous size and colors immediately drew me in. I always pack too much when I’m going on a small trip – “.. what if I get dirty in this, what if I want to work on that project?..” – and this bag looks like it could hold it all. Then look at that strap! Sturdy and with a leather feather detail hanging down. Wow. And a lot of people still don’t use Etsy to buy beautiful handmade items, umm, why??

I would totally snuggle up to it, too.

When I was young, ~ 10 years old, I got my first guinea pig — “Squeeky”! I loved him so much and have had guinea pigs since and have overall always had a soft spot for these little “squeaking monkey rats”. So when I found LalisLittleWorldOn‘s shop on Etsy I instantly fell in love! I wish I did THIS with my guinea pig.

I also learned about the existance of narwhals this week. They are whales with HORNS like UNICORNS! It lead me to find this necklace that I think is super cute to end this episode of recent favorites 😉

Awesome Recent Etsy Favorites #2

The painted over collage style is great, isn’t it? Also the colors look so vibrant and the mood so inspirational. I love tea so choosing this print specifically to feature was a no brainer but I really enjoy a lot of this artist’s prints!

Their description of the item is just awesome… mounds of pudding! Yes! I find myself in need of a spoon on the go quite often and it looks nice too.

The copper and turquoise colors are so stunning together aren’t they…. I’ m inspired by this a lot!

Another necklace! I don’t even wear jewelry often. I would love to have this one in my collection though.

There are so many beautiful things on Etsy. I spend many hours a week browsing! Great entertainment.
I enjoy Regretsy too… oh boy! I want something of mine to get on there some day, but in a good way!
